Maroon: A sanctuary to dream

This offering is a space for BIPOC, queer, and trans folks to vision for the future together by holding and creating space for ancestral joy, grief, and pleasure.

Maroon is an offering for the collective. To build new worlds and to hold space for the grief of what was. I created this container for our ancestors especially the ones who dreamed of liberation and escaped to freedom to build communities outside of slavery in maroons. We are the fire building in a cave together, formed by this container. Maroon is a space to honor and ritualize our connection to our ancestors chosen or by blood so we can become well ancestors for our descendants while prioritizing joy, pleasure, and making room for grief.  Together we are the kindling of the fire to dismantle systems and to dream of a sustainable future. We are the match that strikes the wood to keep each other warm by sharing space in the container in community for building our hopes and visions for liberation for all.

COMING FALL 2024

What is Maroon and who is it for?

Maroon is a biweekly gathering for BIPOC queer and/or transgender folks. On the first and last Sunday of each month we will gather to vision and build a new world for 2 hours on Zoom. The container will start with each person lighting a candle to open the space, a guided meditation to bring us into our virtual circle, a brief voluntary check in, and each week will have a different theme, a tarot and oracle card pulled by me at the beginning for the weekly message, journal prompts, and space to share and dream together. For our time together there will be a theme cultivated each gathering.

  • Together for 120 minutes

  • Sliding scale ($10-50)

  • Journaling prompts about themes such as connections to ancestor, what looking like a well ancestor looks like for you, and writing a blessing for you, your ancestors and descendants.

  • Participants are invited to draw a card for each question, write, and draw in response to

  • Activities such as making a memory/ ancestor jar which will be the first session and a PDF of materials will be sent when participants sign up

  • Closing of container with grounding meditation
